As I stated last time, I am interested in anime. I generally don't binge shows like I used to a few years ago but rather just watch whatever is airing that I am interested in. This is mostly confined to sequels, though it can be new shows too. This is reflected heavily by what I am watching this cour: Classroom of the Elite 2nd Season, Overlord IV, Hataraku Maou-sama! 2nd Season. and Isekai Ojisan. Let's talk about them.
Classroom of the Elite 2nd Season is probably my favorite show airing this season. I had to wait for the second season to air for a while, but I'm happy now that it's here. Overall, the animation is a step down from season one but it still looks good in my opinion. It's more cerebral than the other shows I'm watching this season. I look forward to watching it every week and I can't wait for season 3.
Hataraku Maou-sama! 2nd Season is a bit of a meme in the anime world because of how long it took to get a second season. Season one aired back in 2013 and it took this long to get a second season. The animation definitely fell off but it's not disgusting. Honestly, I'm watching this one for the meme, but it's still a good time.
Overlord IV is another sequel I've been looking forward to. This is probably the only sequel I'm watching right now where the animation hasn't fallen off from the previous season. Honestly, it's probably better since they haven't used as much 3d modeling as last season. It's a solid show, definitely enjoy but probably not for all audiences.
Isekai Ojisan is the only new show I'm watching this cour. I started watching it because the synopsis caught my eye and then it got a pretty high rating which is always good if the show's a comedy, which this is. It's definitely a different take on the Isekai trope, whereas instead of getting transported into the other world, our Ojisan got transported back into ours. Sort of a retrospect story if you will. The animation style is pretty unique and the characters work well together. A pretty fun show and I enjoy it.
I watch these shows as they air during the week, but usually I'll watch two sometime in the week and two another time. I prefer it to binging shows because it really lets you savor the experience and it doesn't take up as much of your time for doing other, probably more important things.
